Privacy policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026. This is a draft and will be finalised before public release.
CAZ Tracker helps you detect when you drive into a UK Clean Air Zone and reminds you to pay any charge. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Location data stays on your device
Zone detection runs entirely on your phone. Your live GPS position, speed and movement are processed locally and are never sent to our servers. We use background location only to detect zone crossings while you drive; it is not tracked, stored remotely, or shared.
What we do store
- Your account — when you sign in with Google or Apple we receive a unique identifier and, if you allow it, your email and name. We use this only to create your account and sync your data across devices.
- Crossing history — a record of which zones you entered and whether a charge was paid, so your history is backed up and available on any device you sign into.
- Vehicles — the vehicle details you enter (name, registration, compliance status).
- Subscription status — whether you hold an active subscription, provided by Apple/Google via our payments provider.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build a profile of your movements. We hold no continuous location trail.
Data storage & deletion
Account and history data are stored on secure servers in the EU. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app, or by contacting us.
